Overview
About Me
I'm a university teacher, divorced with a 12 year old son. I like a lot the music and travel. My travel to London and York is the first time abroad, but I have traveled many times in my country and I can provide guide if its posible or advice to people that come here. I have several hobbies, like cook, read fiction books, talk for hours and hours about many topics, hiking, drive and walk through the city of course. I guess I'm a frustrated anthropologist and sociologist, because I like a lot to learn about different cultures and share my experiences and impressions.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
To be honest, first I came on couchsurfing by need, because the university where I work gave me the opportunity to travel to York, UK but the money they gave me is not enough to stay there. Talking about my situation with some friends and job partners, some friend talk me about couchsurfing and its possibilities, but now I can confess something: couchsurfing is a world and a philosophy of life, and I greatly surprised about that, many people has gave me advices and they are sincerely interested about my trip. It's amazing!

Music, Movies, and Books
I like almost all the music. Perhaps my favorite is rock, jazz, blues, pop, dance, electronic, heavy metal, salsa, bolero, bossa nova, classic, reggae.
I have bad memory for movies titles but I like it a lot, perhaps I can remember Blade Runner, Lord of the Rings, The Hobbit, Rear Window, Birds, Saving Private Ryan, but in a conversation I can remember others.
Because of my job I have to read a lot, but boring things. My favorite books are about fiction, mainly latin american literature, and historic novels. I like a lot Isabel Allende because of her narrative descriptions in all of her books like The house of the spirits , Daugther of Fortune, The Infinite Plan, Portrait in Sepia, Afrodita, Love and The Island Beneath the Sea. Another good writer for me is the Colombian William Ospina, who has wrote an amazing saga about the spanish conquerors in South America and Colombia; this saga is composed by Ursúa, The Cinnamon Country and The Snake Without Eyes, another book of him is Looking for Bolívar. Obviously I like Gabriel García Márquez's books a lot, and other latin american writers like Mario Vargas Llosa, Jan Rulfo, Julio Cortázar. From Europe I have read Crime and Punishment and some short stories of Kafka.
