About Me

I´m back in Chile after several years working and traveling abroad. I have worked with Medecins Sans Frontieres (Doctors without borders) mainly in Africa for around 6 years. I´m passionate about traveling and meeting new people from different cultures and these years abroad taught me a lot about that.

I´m a construction engineer, and I did some studies in sustainable architecture in Barcelona last year. I know how to build houses, that´s my job :)

Before leaving Chile I expent 27 years in Valparaíso, so I know the city, in case you need some advice ;)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Because I love to meet new people from other cultures and to learn and share experiences. I think this is the best way to open my mind and have a better perspective of the world we live in.

Also because I´ve been traveling as well and I know how nice it´s to have a warm cosy place to stay over and how important it´s to get to know local people to really understand the place and the culture.

I´m planning on keep traveling as well, so I´m hoping to have the same oportunities on my next experiences abroad.

Interests

I´m very much into nature, I have a strong connection with earth, and I love plants. I believe sustainability in all its forms is the way forward for the future, and I like to live my life accordingly. I like to run and ride my bycicle, I like good music from very different styles and places and I love good food. I like cooking a lot and I like good wine as well. Crazy about movies and literature in general and very much into photography.

Music, Movies, and Books

My favorite music is just good music. I like a bit of everything and you could hear from jazz to hip hop at my place (not heavy metal thoguh :). I like to grab music from the places I travel too, so my collection is wide and wild. Top three all time favorite bands: Pink Floyd, The Police, the Rolling Stones.

Same thing with movies, I have a wide range of favorites, though I like directors more than movies alone. Top seven all time favorites: Stanley Kubrick, Martin Scorsese, Christopher Nolan, Wes Anderson, Paul Thomas Anderson, Jim Jarmoush, The Cohen Brothers.

Favorite writer is the Argentinian Julio Cortazar. I also like poetry and in Chile we have a lot of that. Vicente Huidobro is one of my all time favorites.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I think living for 6 years in deep Africa, is one of the craziest things I´ve done.

Teach, Learn, Share

I think to share ones point of view about things, in an open minded way, is the best way to teach and learn.

What I Can Share with Hosts

My food for sure, some good wine and a cosy little place. The appartment is small but the heart is big.
What else can I share? experiences, a good talk, a nice terrace with sea view, good music and a good laugh.

Countries I’ve Visited

Argentina, Belgium, Bolivia, Burundi, Cameroon, Cuba, Dominican Republic, Egypt, England, Germany, Greece, Italy, Peru, Rwanda, South Africa, Sweden, Tanzania, Zambia

Countries I’ve Lived In

Angola, Central African Republic, Chad, Chile, Democratic Republic of Congo, France, Haiti, Netherlands, South Sudan, Spain
