About Me

CURRENT MISSION

my mission is not to die without knowing each site on the planet

ABOUT ME

Hey there,
I'm Carlos Porta, and I hail from the beautiful city of Barcelona. By day, I'm a cooking instructor at a hotel school, where I get to share my passion for food with eager learners. But that's not all – I'm an avid traveler who enjoys exploring new places, meeting people, and experiencing diverse cuisines. Cooking isn't just a job for me; it's a way of life.

When I'm not in the kitchen or jet-setting around, you can find me strumming away on my guitar as part of a rock band. The rush of music is another thrill that keeps me going. Speaking of which, I also have a soft spot for the art of capturing moments – both visually and audibly. Whether it's through a camera lens or my ears, I'm captivated by the world of sights and sounds.

What's unique is that I take my adventures on the road in my trusty van, embracing the freedom of solo travel. I find solace in simplicity and try to steer clear of unnecessary complications. Life's too short for problems, right?

Oh, and speaking of adventures, let me tell you about Marta Vallverdu – my open-minded travel mate and a fantastic companion in exploration. Marta is fueled by a love for discovering the world, immersing herself in new cultures, and savoring diverse musical experiences. She's a kindred spirit who shares my passion for adventure, and together, we've embarked on countless journeys, creating unforgettable memories along the way. While Marta isn't a member of Couchsurfing, she's open to trying out the experience, which speaks to her adventurous spirit and willingness to embrace new ways of connecting with fellow travelers.

Catch you later,
Carlos
