About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To get enough miles to book a trip around the world in business class for two! OK, maybe for three, since a little traveler joined us a few years ago.

ABOUT ME

I'm a Panamanian travel addict with a mixture of genetical and cultural heritage. One of my grandfathers was a Spaniard born in Panama, the other one was a Cantonese inmigrant who found his way to this small Central American country. My grandmothers are/were both Panamanian. I lived until I was 6 years old in Panama, then moved to Spain, came back to Panama when I was 10, and found my way back to Spain when I was 24. Since late 2013, I'm back in Panama, running away from the European economical crisis.

You could say that I'm obssessed with traveling, always looking for new places to visit and new cultures to interact with. As a matter of fact, just searching for flights and reading about destinations fills me with joy, even if I'm not planning to travel there anytime soon. I highly dislike organized tours. I prefer to book everything myself and would rather wander around in a city, seeing the things I want to see, rather than going to the places a guide wants me to see. I'm an electronics engineer specialized in railways, but my greatest passion is traveling.

PHILOSOPHY

I live the present, rarely considering long-term plans. If I can travel within next few months, I'll do so, and I'll worry about saving money later. I know it's not the wisest way of acting, but that's how I am.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I mostly host surfers, even though I haven't done that often. I've never been to a CS meeting, although I'd like to do that.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I hosted two couples at my place when I was in Madrid, and I've just started to host people again, now in Panama. I've surfed just once, when I visited Manaus to watch the Honduras-Switzerland match during the 2014 FIFA World Cup, and it was a great experience, albeit too short (we only spent one night surfing).

Interests

Traveling, photography, writing, videogames, good food (cooking it and eating it). Oh, and traveling, traveling, and traveling again.
