About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Finish my carreer, become economically independant, and rejoice in the magic of our world (check my philosophy section)
ABOUT ME
My name is Carlos Vazquez Caubet, I am from Spain. Usually I live at Mallorca in the summer, when I enjoy going to some of the many beaches at the island, however, during the rest of the year, I live at madrid, where I rejoice walking around many parts of this big city, doing cultural things with some friends, and sometimes going out and having some parties. I basically can find enjoyable things anywhere, as there is a huge range of activities I like. I'm a bit shy, but when I feel comfortable with someone, I love listening to what that person has to say and to share what i think. Also i believe every person has many exceptional things to teach to everyone, but sometimes our society just makes us feel that we are not that great, that's why i love learning about things i dont even know when other people explains things to me. I'm not sure what else is to say, if there is something else i can explain it in person hahaha
PHILOSOPHY
I am still very young. Sometimes the fact that i'm not economically independant makes it impossible for me to do what i love (travelling), but i can still enjoy reading and watching movies, as I can dive completely in the world I'm reading/watching. For me, everything makes a story, just as in all those cultural things i love, and travelling and meeting new people, being able to listen to new stories, and to imagine how everything was different in that place of the earth and for the people who lived there... For me, that's magic. That's the magic of our world, and i would like to be able to enjoy it as much as i can before my life is over. I could explain more about my personal philosophy, but i think that is better if i tell you in person.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I guess this spot is made in order to explain what i would do if I couchsurf to your place, well, basically i would help in anything that is needed. I would love to help at the kitchen, cooking, to help cleaning anything you need, and of course being as helpful as i can and trying not to become a problem to anyone.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I have never couchsurfed before, but this year i lived an exchange year in Pennsylvania, and I met one of my friend's sister, who explained me about this way of travelling and her good experiences, so i want to try it by myself.
Interests
Everything related to culture! I love to read, watch movies, go to museums (although i am not very into paintings, i love when someone can explain me thungs about them), see different buildings, go to the theathre... And i love gastronomy, i like to cook and learn new recipees (if i think i can teach a good one i like doing it to), i like to try new food recipees and dishes, and to try some local restaurants and bars.
Basically i love diving as much as i can in the culture of the place where i travel.

Music, Movies, and Books
As i explained before, when i read or watch a movie I feel as if i was traveling to that world, that's why I like fantasy books, specially those that make me laugh, like Terry Pratchett's stories, but also more epic stories just as The Lord of the Rings, the Name of the Wind, Game of Thrones (although i started by watching the tv series)... But i like it when someone recommends me a book. I just finished reading Brave New World, by Aldous Huxley. I also enjoyed Murakami's Tokio Blues and more others. Regarding to movies, the only kind of movie I dont like is the Horror category, unless the story is really good (or so bad that it becomes good, i like old cheap monster movies). Maybe my favourite group of movies are the comedy type. And my all time favourite movie is, surpisingly, The Truman Show.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I'm not really sure what to say here. For some people, the time I went sailing from Mallorca to Sardegna with my family, and we survived a really big storm, in which nobody could sleep during three nights.
For me, I stayed one year at a little village in Pennsylvania, where I didnt know anyone, and it became one of the greatest years of my life, while I tried that everyone there enjoyed their exchange year as much as i did.
Teach, Learn, Share
I want to learn about everything (except maybe maths, I really lost all my skills on that topic): politics, culture, literature, philosophy, personal histories, cooking recipees, nice places to visit...
I think i could explain people about my country, about different places to see at Mallorca, i could teach some spanish recipees (even when I usually dont cook specific recipees, i know some of them that people really enjoy), and maybe there is something I investigated and I can teach that, but I think this is something easier to talk in person .
