My friend, Nee, told me about this app, and I tried it for my very first solo trip to Melbourne, Australia 🇦🇺 and since then I love this platform so so much! Helping people without asking something in return, we just pay forward to next person we meet, CouchSurfing is like a whole new, greater, happier world. 😄

I have traveled alone for the first time to Melbourne, Australia 🇦🇺 when I was 22. I went there only for a week as I am using my savings from scholarship. I met a lot of new friends from different countries. This travel means a lot to me because this is the first time I leave my super conservative comfort zone, I learn a lot of things, one of the most precious values I learnt is that "Courage is the only thing left when you have nothing else." 🌟

Another story, which I really want to share here is my friendship with 2 Vietnamese 🇻🇳 friends through Couchsurfing. Phu and Vy, we met in 2016 through hang-out feature in Couchsurfing on the first time I went to Vietnam, since then we become good friends although we have a little bit of language barrier. I went to Vietnam another 2 times, one in 2017 when I did my solo trip again just to visit them, another one in 2019 when Phu invited me to his wedding. They came to Malaysia to visit me for a couple of times too. I never think of having a friendship this close with foreigners few years ago!
