Hi! We are a couple in our 30s currently taking time off our city working lives to travel. Prior to travelling I used to lead and manage business functions of HR, Finance, IT and Administration for a global cosmetics company with a head office in Toronto. I am a quiet but curious person and like to learn about people's relations and day to day life. I am a very good listener!

Dan used to work as a Senior Consultant and Team Lead for a large IT company based out of Montreal. He is super outgoing and likes to laugh and can talk about anything. We have known each other for over 18 years, dating for 8ish and live to travel. Ask about how we met!

我为什么加入 Couchsurfing

Although I have been a member on CS since 2013 with hopes of trying it out, I never did until now! I have always liked the idea of meeting people with similar interests but vastly diverse lives from all over the world. Now that we are travelling long-term we can finally participate in the CS community. We look forward to connecting with people who can teach us new things about our amazing planet. When we return home in 2017 we will do our best pay it forward and be amazing hosts from Toronto.

兴趣

We recently started scuba diving, obtaining our PADI open water licenses in Koh Phi Phi and love seeing different water life around the world. We have since dived in Ko Tao, Roatan and Jamaica and can't wait to do more.

We both own motorcycles at home and miss them dearly while travelling. I ride a Honda Grom 125cc named Kuromi and Dan rides a Honda CBR 600 f4i named Holly. I am a beginner rider still developing confidence but Dan is experienced and has done two amazing motorcycle trips around North Vietnam and to the highest motorable pass in the world in India. I hope to one day join him on an adeventure like this :)

We both love video games but I would say this is a way of life for Dan. I like games that involve collecting things such as WOW and Diablo and Dan will and has played everything out there. We are really into Twitch.tv for entertainment and can show you what this is if you are curious :)

Dan is very into anything tech and we have many many gadgets. He can give you advice on anything you need to know and loves chatting with other people who are into this stuff also.

I enjoy doing crafty things like making jewelry and colouring. I am not a true artist but there is a creative bug somewhere in me that likes to be sparked every once and awhile. I have also gotten into Yoga recently, practicing for two weeks at a small village in India. I hope to continue this and keep practicing to make it part of my daily routine.

Lastly, we of course both love travelling. We both traveled to Europe before dating and travelling long term has been a consistent dream of ours. While saving to do a long trip we did mini trips around the world. We don't intend to stop and hope we can be those cool parents who take their kids travelling one day but we are doing the exotic places now while we can :)

We both listen to reggae (Vybz, Popcaan, older stuff) as well as newer EDM. I also listen to punk music, mostly stuff from the 90s or early 2000 and Dan really does not enjoy.

We love game of thrones, I have read the books also, and we do enjoy a number of TV shows.

Dan has a crazy collection of movies and some of his faves are Lord of the Rings, Star Wars, Karate Kid, Back to the Future, any marvel movie...

Dan does most of his reading online or from Reddit. Me on the other hand I do enjoy books but especially GOT which has taken up a lot of time over the years. I enjoy throwing business books into the mix and currently reading Everybody Wins, the Remax story as I get ready to embark on a new career venture in Real Estate when we return home.

While Dan was motorbiking around India I stayed at a home stay in a small mountain village. There I had the opportunity to rappel down a waterfall which was one of the most exciting things I have done! We have also skydived in Namibia!

We are extremely open minded people who can adapt to a variety of situations and people. I can't say we can cook a traditional Canadian meal unless we can find some real Maple Syrup but we are happy to bring something from a country we have visited! We are currently travelling with amazing coffee from Ethiopia with lots to share.
