About Me
Hey there!
I'm Carmen and I loooove travelling. I'm half Spanish, half Chinese and, for some reason, that has always driven me to meet new places, cultures and people. I love sports (specially basketball), hiking, dancing and singing (even though i'm not specially good haha).
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Four years ago I became part of an international association called ESTIEM, and it showed me the advantages of continuously meeting new people and travelling with locals (among another thousand things).
It has also taught me to love my city, Madrid, more and more every time a friend comes and I've got to show them around. So I thought today would be a great day to join a network like couchsurfing keep doing what I do.

Music, Movies, and Books
Music: The Beatles!!
Movies: Across the universe, Fast and Furious (all of them!), the Italian Job.
Books: Any by Khaled Hosseini ("The kite runner", "A thousand splendid suns", "And the mountains echoed"), also "O Meu Pé de Laranja Lima" by José Mauro de Vasconcelos (amazing novel about the live of a kid in Brasil).
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Life nowadays goes by way too quickly, almost everything is amazing once you stop and really look.
Sunrise at Borobudur temple in Indonesia, discovering the secret passages of Jogjakarta by following a proud local, looking at the stars in the Pyrenees, snorkling in a small island in Panamá, hanging out with my best friends, slidding down the Great Wall of China, watching a video of a happy elephant =) and many many more that still have to get done.
Teach, Learn, Share
"Smile, it's cheaper than electricity and gives more light".
It combines happiness and taking care of others and our planet, add honesty, laugther, forgiveness and justice and you've got it all!
Regarding learning and sharing “The more I learn, the more I realize how much I don't know.” (Albert Einstein) and there's a whole world out there to explore.
