I have "parked" my medical career to travel.
I am trying to see with my own eyes and experience myself all those amazing places and cultures I have only seen in books and on TV.
And try to come out my comfort zone and do different things, learn new skills and challenge myself with a new way of life!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I used to go to hotels and leave only with the limited experience of the place I was visiting.
After travelling for 5 months around South East Asia on my own I have learned a better way of remembering all those places and that is having friends all over. Friends in every port. It enriches the experience of the visit and it is definitely more cost effective: I get much more out of it! I get to know people and make bonds with them.

Music, Movies, and Books

My music taste is quite basic: pop. However I have started to learn new music influenced by all this friends I have been meeting in my trips and that makes it also fun and special! With Dave I have listened more Reggae, with Ernesto some dubstep....

I have had a fair amount of cinema time. I love it! But I don't really have a favourite. It depends on the day and time what I fancy seeing. Sometimes commercial american Marvel movies are just as good as independent, weird or soul ripping sad romanian movies.

And regarding books... well, I used to read loads, then medicine came and most of my books were medical.. so I am restarting my reading again. So I am open to recommendations!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Amazing depends on the viewer's opinion... some days being alive and well is the most amazing thing I do!

Other days...
Being at the birth of so many thousand babies is amazing
Sharing the pain of the loss of a child by the parents with a big hug is amazing
Diving with enormous turtles, barracudas and 1000 fish is amazing
Sunsets in different parts of the world are amazing
Getting unexpected help and kindness from strangers is amazing
Staying up for more than 10 seconds in a surf board is amazing
The feeling of completion after finishing a hard workout in Crossfit is amazing

Amazing is all over! Just as much as horrible things. Just need to try and remember to look for it despite the horrible things that happen around us.
