To meet and hear stories, ideas and perspectives from around the world. Hoping to retell and share them in different ways.

I want to explore different perspectives of existing situations, especially those that involve societies and individuals. For the opportunity to discover experiences and ideas on language, culture, ethnicity, human identity whilst travelling, which is something I love and will never stop doing.

Having been raised by parents who grew up very differently to myself, I have always seen the inspirational value and beauty of story-telling from one person to the next.

My most honest and loved piece at university was one where I created ‘Mappa Mundi’s (maps that tell of human experiences, rather than of geographical exactness) of people around the world, removing the physical elements that define a location – turning public spaces into private places – and a ‘story-telling’ device (in the form of shipping containers..) that helped global communities transcend distance to communicate these ‘individual story-telling’ experiences. Giving these unconnected, distant people a collective space, a portal, a way of being together - by recognizing the fact that the space we share, the world, is a different place to each of us entirely. Unfortunately the piece was only speculative, but I hope to one day with extra knowledge, understanding and resources be able to make it happen.

In more detail.. I am interested in multidimensional storytelling, exploring the merging of multimedia and live performance. I love to craft custom narratives, experimenting with audience direction, the challenge of maximising interaction and building vehicles for communication through immersive online and offline experiences.

This has driven my collaborations with designers, chefs, artists, technologists, performers and musicians on independent works. Also deepening the relationship between the individual and their 'process' through 'crowd-sourcing for inspiration' exercises, devising new collaborations, community-focused workshops and ideas-sharing platforms are my projects for 2015 – plus a public campaign focused on 'real food' and a Yunnanese street food pop-up which will take place in Shanghai, Beijing and London this Summer. Which will explore food not just as something edible, but also as an artistic medium, that can be designed and used for communication of ideas, an intangible experience and ignite emotional responses.

I want to introduce and explore innovation within all aspects of culture, especially food, technology, performance and architecture, finding stories within these to provide not just entertainment, but inspiration and education.

32km trek across the hills of Inle Lake, learning about the wildlife from a local Burmese guide Kyawsan.
Temple and sunset chasing on bikes across Bagan, Myanmar
Creatively directed and produced Shanghai's biggest public arts & lifestyle festival DAFF for 12,000 people.
Followed street artists in Sao Paulo
Sailed to Virgin Island in the Philippines
Road trip from Kunming in China, through Pu-er, Xishuangbanna to Luang Prabang and Vang Vieng in Laos
Stayed on a farm in Sardinia - BEST FOOD EVER!
Got to spend a day with Mr Sotthea in Siem Reap - the most incredible tuk-tuk driver, an accidental personal tour, but the most memorable experience in Cambodia. To learn about life as a monk, the khmer rouge, how you met your wife... :)
In Egypt the week of the start of the Arab Spring
Trekked across the Western Sahara in Morocco with Berbers, climbed Mount Toubkal, found an oasis and slept under the stars, listening to music made by win over the sand dunes.
Found the best Vietnamese restaurant in Vietnam in Hoi An, a hidden spot with a farm and the most amazing family and story. (Baby Mustard - must visit this place!)
Food in Tel Aviv is also unmatched, there is nothing not tasty in this city!!

Nothing specific. It's just important to be open to what you don't know and always curious to learn more whether it is big or small. Life is just about understanding more about yourself and your environment (including others).

Copious amounts of conversation and (non-interrogation-like) questions, my love for the sun, food, a good story, walking around (and touching things apparently..?), new ideas, jokes and if and where possible over an ice-cold gin and tonic (to go if needed).
