About Me

CURRENT MISSION

learn, climb, run, stretch, see, do, learn some more

ABOUT ME

Im an urban dirtbag hippy chic who eats red meat and drives a truck. I get excited about clear days in the mountains, the smell of sage in the desert, art, the sound of an guitar strumming and a bottle of red wine i havent tried before. I am an experience & goal oriented individual...a doer and learner who likes being outside.

PHILOSOPHY

We are all connected... so be nice!
Im greatful for the blessing of choice, however our race got it, its pretty bitchin. Choose to be a better person. Choose to be greatful, to get over that ex, to help the senior with their bags, to volunteer... whatever floats your boat- empower yourself.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I would like to do some surfing w my bf.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I actually dont have any couch surfing experience to date... hoping to change this.

Interests

If werent in an office all week, i would be spending my time doing anything i can do on a mountain... including, running, climbing, hiking, skiing, snowboarding, etc. Like doing yoga and stretching. Especially love climbing and bouldering. I like to pretend that I can surf... swimming falls into this category aswell.
Thrift shop digging, old things, vintage stuff... I also like quilting, drawing, art & art history, & general craftiness when i have someone to do it with.
I like to learn about things i dont know much about, like mechanics and renovation stuff, quantum physics, cosmetology, ecomonics... Really like dancing although i dont do it enough.
Into road trips, with tunes loud enough that i cant hear my aweful singing voice, sleeping in my truck, waves, rock and sometimes throwing in rodeos, go karts and such.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

watched the most amazing sunset over jagged coast mountains, golden wisps of clouds, a purple glistening glacier all from a little known pinnacle of rock and ice that i just climbed... and consequently wandered around all nite in the pitch black alpine nite looking for my bivy, never finding it till morning light... leaving the next morning exhausted, yet exhilarated loving ever second of it.

Teach, Learn, Share

Its really easy to change your own oil and its one of the best/simplest thing you can do to maintain your vehicle! This is how I have done it on past vehicles. Always check your manual for proper maintenance. :)
Supplies:
-new oil filter (look up which type is right for your vehicle)
-oil tray (can be old rubbermaid cut in half or something)
-couple btls of new oil (look up which type)
-wrench/wratchet
-oil filter removal tool (optional only if you cant twist off the old filter by hand)
-plastic gloves, its messy!

Put on gloves! Locate your oil pan. There should be a bolt in the bottom of it. Place oil pan underneath, open bolt with wrench or wrachet & drain oil. It will go all over your hands as you undo it, hence the gloves. Let oil fully drain out into pan. After this, find current oil filter and twist it off. Again, oil will come out as you remove it, so put something under where your working. (shouldnt be as much as oil pan) Turn current oil filter upside down (its full of oil as well) and drain into one of pans. Now screw/twist new oil filter on. Go back to oil pan, should be drained by now, put screw back in. Fill up vehicle with new oil. Pour old oil into now empty oil btls, and take back to store where new oil was purchased for recycling. c'est fini!

Few Tips for learning how to climb/boulder:

-straight arms, butt down & climb with your legs!
-always have 3 points of contact and try to center your body within them (2 hands/1 foot, 1 hand/2 feet)
-get rid of your ego, climbing should be fun
