ABOUT ME

I'm a happy, optimistic person, with a bubbly personality and just a tad bit crazy (in a good way!). I'm trying to enjoy life at its fullest.

Since the 24th of June 2014 I've been in Canada on a Working Holiday Visa. I'm planning to stay the entire year of my visa. Right now I work as a wrangler on a guest ranch, taking out guests on a trail ride. I absolutely LOVE it! It's been a great way to meet new people.

Back in Belgium I work as a caretaker for people with a disability. Besides my work, I'm studying to become a primary school teacher and western riding instructor/horse trainer.

I love horse riding, been doing it for over 21 years now. Used to have my own horse for over 8 years, but due to circumstances I sold her. She's now with a great girl who's taking such good care of her. This was the best solution for everybody!

Back home I have a little dog, crossbreed chihuahua-maltese, he looks more maltese and has got a great personality. He means the world to me and I love taking him for a walk and just spent time with him. He's my best friend.

Of course I also have human friends haha. I love spending time with friends and family. I like going to the movies, have a dance now and then, go out for a drink and a nice chat, have dinner somewhere, etc.

Besides all that I also really love reading books. Only started reading regularly about 6 years ago, but have done my best to catch up. I think I've read about 250 to 300 books by now ^^. Yup, it's really gotten to me haha. I read English books, as I think there is so much more feeling to it thenDutch books. I just don't ever read Ducht books, unless it's horse related... My fav genre are young adult novels, and fantasy and/or romance novels.

One of my other passions is travelling! I absolutely LOVE it! Have been to that many places, but I'm really trying to change that. My Canadian Working Holiday Visa is only the beginning!

I don't drink, smoke or do drugs at all. I can have lots and lots of fun without any of that. My only unhealthy habbit though, is food, and more specific chocolate. Yes, you can definitely call me a chocoholic haha. Besides that, I try to be as healthy as possible, but I just can't help it, I love to eat ;) haha.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm tavelling Canada/USA at the moment and looking forward to meeting a bunch of new people! Would love to share experiences, cook lunch or dinner and tell them about my country.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

None, let's change that asap please! I'm really looking forward to meet new people from all around the world and share stories with. I'm really hoping to meet people that can tell me stories about the town/city they live in and if they have time, it would be absolutely great to have them show me some places or recommend places to go to. You might have some great places in mind that I would otherwise never visit till you tell me.

Interessi

Well, mostly you can find that in the description about myself, but let me give you a quick summary:
- horses, really interested in western disciplines. Really love outback trail riding, reining, barrel racing, trail, horsemanship.
- dogs, I love dogs, my dog means the world to me
- reading, love reading English literature, mostly yound adult books and romance-fantasy.
- travelling, it's my dreamto visit as much places in the world as I can!
- hanging out with friends and family

Owh, and I love cooking! Not saying I'm the best at it, but I definitely like to try ;)

Musica, film e libri

Movies: I like all sorts of different movies, but I'm a sappy girl and really enjoy romantic movies ^^ The Notebook and Titanic are definitely one of my favs

Music: anytinig top 40 really. And I really love country music too. I love the music they play here on Canadian radio. I so have been born in the wrong country! Owh and I love R&B to dance too ^^

Books: like I said, love English literature, mostly young adult (romance, distopian, ...), romance and/or fantasy. some of my favourite authors are Simone Elkeless, Nalini Singh, Richelle Mead, Rachel Vincent, Jennifer L. Aremntrout, etc. Got a goodreads acoount if you're interested. Make sure to ask for the link to my profile then;)

Trail riding at Sundance Guest Ranch in Ashcroft, BC. So beautiful! Being a wrangler here has definitely changed my life.
