ABOUT ME
The following is actually a description a good friend once wrote about me for her English class and after she send it to me:
"I’m going to write you about my friend Carmen, as you’ve asked me. She’s 20 and she’s studying Psychology in South Korea. She’s from Holland, but she has lived in Spain for many years, so she speaks Dutch, English, Spanish and Catalan very well and she’s studying French right now because her parents are living there, in France.
Carmen is a very special friend to me. She’s many kilometres away from here but I feel like she’s with me all the time. She’s very reliable, you really can trust on her. She’s also really charming and sensible, but I think her best quality is she’s very independent since she was a child.
In her free time she likes listening to music, visiting different places and doing Skype with her family or us, her friends. When she has enough time, she likes taking a plane and travelling to visit people that she loves.
I think she doesn't have any negative thing. Maybe there's only one thing, she's very busy, but it's a negative thing to me because I can't see her as long as I want, but it's a positive thing for her, because she's never bored and she learns new things every day."
I'm very grateful for Sofia's beautiful words, and hope you can use them to get to know me better.
Interests
I like unusual things, that's why I like travelling, to go out of the ordinary and in to the extraordinary.
I mostly enjoy travelling to places with breathtaking nature, mountains, sunsets on beautiful beaches, tropical forests...
I spend my time on hanging out with friends, right now I'm on exchange in South Korea so for now I like to explore this country with other internationals and locals studying in Seoul.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I think one of the most "wow" moments for me was when I was in Brazil at a beach near Paraty. I think I was about twelve and started to really appreciate the places where my parents took my 3 brothers and me. Seeing the huge but also terrifying waves, the giant rocks, the tropical vegetation and the beautiful water was breathtaking. I'm really happy I have a mother who's a flight attendant thanks to whom my family and I can travel cheaply.
Another astonishing moment for me was when I went to Congo last January (2014). It's a country hard to get into, but since my brother had an internship there his boss asked permission for my family and me to enter the country. We went to a little island in a river where 3 quarters where covered with a building place where they were making about 30 huge villa's for rich tourists I guess. On the other small part about 100 mini houses were "built" with local people living there. There was a closed gate between this part and the other part. The children were really shy at the beginning and had amazingly diverse hairstyles, but after they pushed one forward and he shook my hand all of them came forward one by one to shake my hand. Some very shy, others mostly curious and some a little scared. After a while i was hand in hand with a 3-year old and we would walk together the rest of our visit there, it was lovely.
What I Can Share with Hosts
From september 2016 on, not so much since I'll be doing an internship for 9 months which will keep me very busy. So I can share my couch and some tips about what to do in Rotterdam.
