About Me

My name is Carmen and I'm Spanish. My passion is travelling, that's why I'm here ... I didn´t realize before but now looking back I think I´ve always been a nomad. When I finish high school I wanted to study far away from home. After that I went to live in Madrid, even further. I lived in Madrid for a long time. But even there I had the itchiness to move, I used to change apartment almost every year, nomad of the city, exploring different neighbourhoods 😉

Some years ago, I took a step further in my career, I quit my full-time job and became an entrepreneur and freelancer.

And I travelled around….I’m proud of some amazing and crazy adventures I lived: a road trip crossing Europe, 100 miles in kayak in the Keys, I became a photographer to cruise around the world for 5 months, traveled 750 kilometres without using any means of transport other than my own feet, a month of walking. I love flying like a bird, doing paragliding and plunging underwater for scuba diving. And most of you wouldn’t guess an introvert girl like me could be so adventurous. I’m a seeker of new emotions.

My friends say about me, that I'm a person: easygoing, optimistic, good listener and "always finding opportunities in any situation"

I´m a seeker, always looking for new things to learn and new experience to live.

"A pessimist sees the difficulty in every opportunity; an optimist sees the opportunity in every difficulty." Winston Churchill

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love meeting new and different people from different countries and cultures. I really believe diversity make us better people.

Some years ago, a friend of mine told me about couchsurfing...and I tried it...it was even better than he had told me... You don´t feel like a tourist. I like it because is the way to really know the culture and the people of the places you visit. It is the best way to travel. Now I have many friends around the world.

Interests

I´m a scuba diver, I love to be underwater. Traveling in SE Asia, one day a friend of mine told me "you are like a water buffalo, you always want to be on the water"

I love photography but just to take pictures, not to have pictures taken. From my trips, I bring many photos as memories of beautiful places and great times. You can see some of my photos http://www.instagram.com/nomad_indeed/

I like theater. I was part of an amateur theater group and I discovered the wonderful world of storytelling. I'm member of Toastmaster International, an international group to improve public speaking skills.

I like natural parks, countryside, forest, rivers, mountains, beaches, but I like as well big or small cities and go out to meet people.

Other things I like: movies, reading, paragliding,... and enjoy new experience and emotions...and travel, travel, travel, travel...
