About Me

CURRENT MISSION

find a good recipe for vegan cheese

ABOUT ME

I love food--in particular food that is both aesthetically pleasing as well as extremely delicious.
Because of this love, I weigh 500 pounds.
Only one of these above statements is true and you can only find out if you meet me---curious now, aren't ya?!?!

PHILOSOPHY

My personal philosophies are best expressed with these two quotes:

“I went to the woods because I wanted to live deliberately, I wanted to live deep and suck out all the marrow of life, to put to rout all that was not life and not when I had come to die discover that I had not lived.” --Henry David Thoreau

"Live every week like it's shark week." -- Kenneth from 30 Rock

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Because there's no better way to get a good taste of a country and its culture than by getting to know people who live there (similarly why I like hitchhiking).

Interests

I really like pizza. I know, most of this profile is concerns food, but it really is one of my favorite things in the world.
As for un-food related interests (because, yes, in fact, I do have some), I really love language/linguistics, yoga, and Irish people.
I enjoy sarcasm. Sometimes too much.
I'm a little obsessed with Harry Potter. I feel no shame about this.
Other than that, mostly food.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Hitchhiking through Europe for 3.5 months. Espeically since people (here's lookin' at you, Americans who don't even have a passport) are such haters about hitchhiking. However, during my travels I was never sold into sex slavery ("OMG HAVEN'T YOU SEEN TAKEN?!?! WHY WOULD YOU EVER TRAVEL ANYWHERE EVER?!?!?"), kidnapped to have my body parts harvested, or cut into pieces by serial killers. Actually, the whole experience was so delightful I'm a huge advocate for hitchhiking--seriously, stop reading this profile, get off your couch, and go find yourself a nice hitchhiking lift somewhere.

Teach, Learn, Share

I know quite a bit about vegan cooking, in particular vegan baking. I'm not a vegan, but I enjoy the challenge of creating recipes without using animal products so I've spent a lot of time learning to do so.

I would like to learn how to make lace and dread my hair. Or maybe lace my hair. Is that possible? Someone? Anyone?

What I Can Share with Hosts

Food (prepared by yours truly) and witty banter. I can't imagine why you would want anything more.
