About Me
Hi there, I'm Caro! :) I'm a translator, a languages teacher, a DIYer, a hobbyist photographer and whatever else that I can teach myself to do. I'm also a human with the soul of a husky who can't stay still.
I come originally from Spain, have lived in Germany for the last couple of years and speak Spanish, English, German, some French and some Catalan.
What will you find out if we have a conversation in any of these languages?
- [Probably] that I love discussing anything (im)possible, exchanging knowledge with whomever I run into, and hearing others tell stories.
- [Quite likely] that our conversation will take a while if we bring up politics, sociology, psychology, communities, nerdy sociolinguistic stuff, cultural differences, low waste/low consumption lifestyles or bad jokes that are actually funnier than well-thought through jokes.
- [Definitely] that I can't stay still for too long and after our amazing conversation I will have to go climb, hike, run or explore something, so let's start talking while I'm still here :P
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Simply 'cause what's the point of going places without meeting at least some of its people? :)
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
For almost two years I lived in a Hausprojekt/housing project where, along with local volunteers and travelers, we ran the non-profit, vegan pizzeria and community project Pizza LAB: https://www.facebook.com/pizzalableipzig/ (I personally took care of letting the world know how amazing we were by being in charge of communications/social media/events).
You can ask around how amazing we were, but we for sure know we did an amazing effort ;)
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach you some Spanish, English and German if you're into languages, or some photography basics if you trust a purely practice-based photographer (might have learned something in 8 years though).
I'm always learning new ways to cut my waste production and consume as little as possible, so might be able to teach you something, might learn something from you ;)
I've studied modern singing and have played guitar, but I might have forgotten everything about the latter and maybe jamming with some new friends might be a good way of brushing up on those music skills!
I've been a vegan for 3 years, so any questions about plant-based lifestyles are always welcome :)
What I Can Share with Hosts
- Stories: the good, the bad and the ugly ones ;)
- A climbing/hiking session
- The best bad jokes
- Vegan baking skills
- A cup of tea and a good conversation
- Acroyoga!
- Skills that I might have not discovered yet!
