ABOUT ME

Hi there! I'm Caroline from France :)

I would say I am an open-minded, curious, funny and optimistic person!

I love travelling, as well in foreign countries as in France. This world is so full of incredible places, and I've had amazing experiences in Vietnam (school trip), Iceland, the USA, England, Morocco (hiking in the desert)...
My boyfriend Victor and I share this passion. Together we have visited New York City, we did some hiking in the Alps, we went twice to Germany (first time driving, second time hitch-hiking!). We always talk about the countries we would like to visit.

I also love music, I play the guitar and the ukulele and I love singing. I am a huge Beatles fan! I listen to rock'n'roll, pop, folk music, movie soundtracks...

Another passion of mine is photography! I can hardly go anywhere without my camera. I like to capture the atmosphere and colours of places and people I meet.

I was a teacher for 2 years (first with 7 years-old and then 3-4 years-old) but I have found out I wasn't happy doing this and have decided to do something else with my life! As I love travelling, I've decided to go to New Zealand for a few months with a Working Holiday Visa!! I'm super exited to visit this country, meet the friendly 'Kiwis' and see its amazing landscapes! I'm planning on working in farms and try out some other jobs, to help me find out what I wanna do when I get back.

Alexandre and Sonia Poussin, two French people, have walked across Africa during 3 years and wrote the book Africa Trek which I highly recommend. This quote by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry is what Sonia wrote on my copy of their book the day I met them. I admire them a lot, these words mean a lot to me.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

As much as I love being alone in nature, I believe human relationships are vital. I have learned so much from every single person I've met, wether I have experienced joy, pain, understanding, fear, compassion, love. I want my relationships to be authentic, from heart to heart. I believe Couchsurfing is a great way to truly meet people! I've had great experiences both surfing and hosting people, some quite unforgettable :)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Meditative hike in the desert in Morocco with Alexandre and Sonia Poussin (a French couple who has walked all across Africa!)

Quitting everything and traveling for 6 months in New Zealand... Quite a challenge for me :) While being there, volunteering in a mindfulness meditation center.

Travelling South India on local buses, sometimes for 12 hours straight!

Doing my best to be mindful, in the present moment, aware of my breathing, watching my feelings come... and go :)

Teach, Learn, Share

I would love to share with you my favorite recipes (including raw vegan chocolate truffles!!) and discover yours!
I could teach you some chords on the guitar or give you photography tips :)
I would love to share and learn anything related to ancestral medicines, mindfulness, yoga, NonViolent Communication.
