ABOUT ME

Heleen and me ( Caro) have been friends since two years. We met during a study abroad program in Paris. We're both Belgian, our mother tongue is Flemish (Dutch) but we speak French and English as well. We live in the capital of Belgium, Brussels since one year. Heleen is pursuing a masters in Art History and I am finishing my bachelor's degree in Communications.
Last summer we made a first trip together to Mexico and decided we were ready for another adventure; a road trip at the west coast! We thought by ourselves "if we don't do it now we'll probably never get there.." We wanted to experience what we see in American movies: the car, the diners along the road, the beaches, the bay, the hipster culture,and of course the mix of people! In fact, we don't really know what to expect, we just want to discover all what is there! In short about us: we're adventurous, genuinely interested in other peoples lives, we LOVE food, shopping and Gin & Tonics! In fact, we're great cooks and would love to share our cooking skills with our hosts..
We both grew up in a small, very typical Belgian village in the country side between the horses and cows. Both of us have seen bits and pieces of the world ( West Africa, Asia, US, Europe, ..) and we can't wait to meet new people and make this trip the most memorable in our 24th year of adventures :)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

We have no experience with couch surfing whatsoever, all this is new for us :) We have used Airbnb several times but feel this is a much more personal way to experience a city and get into contact with locals.
