ABOUT US
We're a laid-back American/French couple who love meeting people from all over the world, and showing off this beautiful city we've made our adoptive home.
Caroline:
About two years ago, I was sitting at the desk of my office job in North Carolina when I thought "What the hell am I doing?" and decided I was going to move back to Prague (I studied here in college and fell in love). Less than a year later, I sold all of my furniture, packed up my cat, and got on a one-way flight. And so it goes, the past two years and counting I've been living in this incredible city, teaching English/writing for a magazine, and drinking lots of beer.
I'm a relatively down to earth person with a dry sense of humor and an inexplicable devotion to my less than disinterested cat. During the week I'm generally a homebody because of work, which is why I probably won't accept requests during the weekdays (I really like to get to know my guests, and work makes everything such a hassle).
However, I can guarantee to help you have a good time on the weekend, whether it be going out to a pub/concert/whatever local festival or event is going on. One thing I love about Prague is there always seems to be some kind of unique celebration or activity to go to. I'm not really a club-goer; I'll take a smoky Czech pub over neon lights and overpriced cocktails any night.

[TBA]
Both of us:
We're open to hosting pretty much anyone, but we won't tolerate any kind of racism/sexism/xenophobia/homophobia, etc. We're more than willing to take people out at night on the weekend, but we usually won't go to the city center or take people to see the tourist sites (they're awesome but we've just seen them so many times). But we'd be happy to give you recommendations :) Also, we really try to use Couchsurfing to get to know people, so if you're just looking for a place to crash, then we would suggest requesting someone else. Not saying you have to spend every second of your time with us of course, but we do really enjoy showing guests Prague from a local(ish)'s perspective. Like most cities, there's a lot to gain from getting off the tourist map.

Music, Movies, and Books
Caroline:
My soul exists on bluegrass and folk music, but my booty shakes to anything from electronic to punk to indie to alt rock. I can get down to almost anything, aside from reggae or pop-country. I also have a lot of love for the classics.
My favorite book is The Unbearable Lightness of Being.
"In the mind of a woman for whom no place is home, the thought of an end to all flight is unbearable."
For movies, I enjoy darker/dry dramas or comedies, such as Harmony Korine, Lars von Trier, Coen Bros, Tarantino, etc. I enjoy movies that are stylistically unique and make you think/cry/get angry/have no idea what the fuck is going on.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Caroline:
Visiting the Salar de Uyuni in Bolivia, followed by a three-day adventure through the Atacama Desert. The moonrise in the desert was one of the most incredible things I've ever seen. The food poisoning, not so much.
Kevin:
Visiting New Zeleand for 8 month, being with families, doing rock climing above the ocean, phishing sharks, so many memories I will never forget.
Teach, Learn, Share
Caroline: If you're brave I can give you a stick and poke tattoo :)
Kevin: I can tean you how to make a Quiche !
What I Can Share with Hosts
Caroline: I'm pretty good in the kitchen, and I would be more than happy to cook a collaborative or solo meal for my hosts.
