About Me

CURRENT MISSION

I love to travel and entertain guests.I am working toward having a diverse understanding of many cultures and how to make the most of blending them together.

ABOUT ME

My main love is pretty standard here,Travel. I have enjoyed travel from the age of 13,when I landed a job on a fishing boat in Northern Australia on a crayfish trawler. Meeting fun and exciting people who were virtually homeless, just living out of a backpac was such an inspiration to me and influenced my life from that early age. That you dont need a permanent address to be happy, just travel meet new folk and enjoy the spirit of person you come across, we all have something to teach and learn. I have maintaned that tradition for my whole life since then.
Finding interesting work and incorporating it with my love of travel have been my passion. Finding jobs in exotic locations and in itself exotic jobs have been my 'self' description.
I have driven 4x4s through the world heritage areas of Tasmania and started the first Yoga Centre in my part of Australia, trained dogs for rich owners, have a degree in Interior Design and have built 26 houses.
My latest project is one close to my heart, to build a hotel from scratch in a developing country. So I am living the dream. To live part time in my home land and part time in a wonderful place of the world with wonderful people.

PHILOSOPHY

Just let it go, and it is hard to admit it, but the hardest thing in the world is to just let it go, and breathe.
Life is good, living in the tropics is a dream come true, and every day is bliss. Like Budha. Just rub your tummy and smile!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

As I love to travel I have been in some great projects, in Australia I am in the WOOFing project, 'Willing Workers On Organic Farms' where you can work your way around the world. I have been a woofer and a host and it is a fantastic project, something like CS but learning a job or new life as well.
I would love to meet new people to surf there couches and also offer accom and a place for fellow wanderers to meet and have fun. I can offer a couch in either the Philippines or Tasmania Australia. Depending on the time of year.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

OH many, I can't think of a time that I have not been on someones couch, homelessness is my pasion, and what homeless person doenst like the comfort of a soft couch to surf. When i first came to the PH, I thought I was a hardnened backpacker from the rough tough Australia, but nothing prepared me for my first experence in a developing nation.
As i like to do, no hotels for me, I had to stay with some people I met, and so when it got late, they all just lay on the floor and went to sleep! oh no, my body is not designed to sleep on cement, well not sober anyways! thankgoodness they had a couch, it was very small, but i could curl up on it. First thing in the morning after the grunts from the pigs started to stir me, I saw it was still dark and went back to sleep. then the turkeys started to try to fly onto the roof, there was no ceiling and the noise of long tallons sliding down the exposed tin was more than this now self confesed princess could bare.

Yoga, and more yoga, philosophy, and any interesting point of veiw that anyone cares to discuss. I am there, politix, fine just keep it interesting and fun.

Music, Movies, and Books

Castaway by Lucy Irving, about a lady who answered an add in the UK for a 'Wife for 1 year' and lived on a desert island for one year. This is her story.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Not having a huge fear factor, but trying to take as good a care of myself as i possiblly can, not going to mountanious areas that were renound for being dangerous to westerns, but in 2010 I was taken hostage, not in the mountains or any renound areas for such activities, but from the front of SM Mall in Cebu. I now realise that these things dont just happen on Tv and although i got away, i am now a little more careful. I still live part time in Cebu and love that city, one bad apple is not going to spoil the place i love and my pasion for travel.. Just a little more careful.

Teach, Learn, Share

In Philippines, I can show you around and stay close to the city in my home. Lets eat sweet rice and chocolate milk at a road side at 2am, or booko juice, a mix of condenced milk and coconut juice in the middle of the blazing heat of the day.. In Oz the same, but with a little more knowledge. I have a huge garden and love native plants and my place overlooks the expansive rivers. Great place to wake up to, come and relax and enjoy.
