About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Hyperactivist for over 2 decades- truth, peace, justice...

ABOUT ME

I am a longtime activist. I organized three conferences on Strategies to Transform the Global Economy and (the first) march on my Senators and Congresswoman in January 2002 to Demand a Congressional Investigation of 9-11. I publish the Deception, Perception Dollars, and Co-Founded the 9-11 Truth Alliance, and the Northern California 9-11 Truth Alliance . I organize premieres of films, educational events, marches, rallies for 9-11 Truth, I organized the San Francisco International Inquiry into 9-11, and produced the film Behind Every Terrorist- There is a Bush. I also am the mother of three young men, now, and held a weekly Listening Project in downtown Palo Alto from October 2001 to October 2007, now hold it once a month on the 11th, in solidarity with other 9/11 Truth activists worldwide. I ran for Congress in 2006, 2008 & 2012 on the Green Party ticket on a 9-11 Truth, Peace, Impeachment/Occupy Congress platform. From April 2007 to September 2008 I hosted a radio show on We The People Radio Network entitled- Questioning War- Organizing Resistance. I hosted a radio show called Community Currency on the Progressive Radio Network until March 2012.

PHILOSOPHY

The most important thing I've learned is to forgive, accept, love... to be kind and not judge myself, nor others too harshly.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am a networker, organizer, a great cook, and I love the outdoors- particularly hiking. I read and am bombarded with films, and continue to try to understand and solve the largest problems facing humanity.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have hosted many people on my couch, but this is my first online couch-surfing foray. I have been the recipient of wonderful hospitality all over the world. My husband trusts institutions more than people and I trust people more than institutions - so I need the green light from my husband before I can host someone at our house. We also still have our sons at home (though they do come and go). My eldest son is studying to be certified as a teacher and going to SJSU. My 2nd son is working on his PhD. at CalTech. I had hoped join him and travel in Norway when he was in Europe, after he graduated from Dartmouth, but that trip didn't happen. I hope that someday I can go there and can hike and learn more about the country and meet some great people. My ancestors are from Norway. I hope this will help me to connect with some people there.

Since joining Couchsurfing, I actually haven't tried couchsurfing anywhere, although I have been traveling. En route to India, my husband and I were in Bali when I had an unfortunate accident and shattered my arm. I was flown to Singapore for a new shoulder and never made it to India. The injury has lessened my ability to travel somewhat, and to work as much as I used to. I am not supposed to lift more than 15 pounds with my right arm. It's tough for me, since I am used to being able to carry a lot of weight, and to hauling cases of books around, when we do public outreach.

Interests

Diverse, geopolitical situation, revamping the monetary system, moving us from a war economy towards a peace economy, revolutionizing communications and educating people to be more critical of mass media. I love art, beauty, nature, understanding the "why" behind all the important questions.

Music, Movies, and Books

Too numerous to list...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Most amazing sight was crossing the Tasman Sea when dolphins began playing with the boat and the water was filled with phosphorescence (almost like the awesome scene in Life of Pi with the whale!)

Teach, Learn, Share

I have a bunch of websites with lots of articles, interviews, reviews, blog entries and recipes! I did cook when I was sailing around the world and I enjoy cooking and teaching others how to cook as well, but I am a vegetarian. I do cook meat/fish for others sometimes, but I won't eat it!

Countries I’ve Visited

Australia, Bermuda, Brazil, Canada, China, Ecuador, French Polynesia, Greece, Grenada, Indonesia, Italy, Martinique, Mauritius, Mexico, Netherlands Antilles, New Zealand, Portugal, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, South Africa, Spain, Thailand, Tonga, Trinidad and Tobago, United Kingdom
