ABOUT ME
Hi all!
My name is Carolien, i'm 28 years and live in a small village near Roermond, in the southeast of the Netherlands, when i'm not traveling that is!
I recently finished my Master International Water Management. I met a lot of international students during the master, which i really enjoyed. I love getting to know new people, with their own unique culture, ideas and stories; it inspires me!
I'd like to call myself an environmentalist, I have and still am adapting my lifestyles these last years to meet certain values I treasure, during that time I have already met many inspiring people with a heart for our earth and fellow earthlings, doing the same thing. I still have a long way to go and taking small steps each day, so it stays interesting and fun!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW AND WHY I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
It started with going to several monthly meetings in Nijmegen and some foreign cities I visited, I loved to meet people who traveled already a lot and and have different lifestyles. Then I couchsurfed for the first time in Germany, which was a very good experience and so the cs adventure started :)!
Now I use the hangout app to meet people in any city I visit while abroad and try to go to meetings as well when I find opportunity.
Right now I am traveling and think couchsurfing is the best way to get to know the people and culture. I haven't hosted any people yet, as I live in a very distant and not touristy region, plus travel a lot lately.
Once I get settled somewhere with job and place, I will start hosting and experience it from this perspective as well, giving back!
