I am from Germany but grew up mostly in the UK and then lived in the Netherlands and France before moving "back" to Germany four years ago. I was living in Freiburg until December, when I moved to Cologne for a new job at a women's rights NGO in Cologne. I loved being in the heart of the Black Forest and being able to hike every weekend but I an also happy to now be in a bigger city that is more diverse and has more of a cultural offering!

Asides from travelling for work (Vietnam, Nepal, South Africa) and regularly visiting my parents who moved to Australia 10 years ago, I have mostly explored countries in Europe to try to even out my carbon footprint a little!

Meeting locals who love where they're from seems the perfect way to get to know a place. Unfortunately, I have been living in shared flats with people who aren't happy to host but I have just moved to a new place, so let's see!

I have always read a lot but never had a *favourite* book until I read Captain Corelli's Mandolin a few years ago. At the moment I am reading a lot of novels by African authors.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Survived the two-month "confinement" in France in 2020 in my 45sqm/two bedrooms no living room/two double beds appartment with three friends! Plenty of ellaborate cooking might have been the recipe for our success, or the fact that it wasn't so different from any other final exams season ;)
