Overview
About Me
A Colombian studying translation in the north of England. I'm a professional art restorer, have also worked as a museum guide and as translator. I love travelling, meeting new people, bicycles, walking around, dancing, singing. When I'm studying I'm a complete geek. At first I might be shy but then I loosen up and have no sense of shame. I love being woken up by the singing of birds and adore nature. Not so fond of big, crowded and loud cities. I am more of a small town or country side kind of girl.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
The best way to travel is getting to know the locals!
I'm planning my first trip to Amsterdam, and more trips to mainland Europe will follow in the summer.
I spent my first week in England on couch surfing and I loved it. No review though, we ended up being neighbours and thanks to him I met a great friend! I should ask him to write one...

Music, Movies, and Books
Good music. No electronic or reggaetón. Traditional music from allover, rock, blues, jazz, classical.
"El abrazo de la serpiente" is my favorite Colombian movie. You must watch it!I must confess I have enjoyed guilty pleasures as rom coms and classics such as Die Hard and Hot Shots (I was a child when they came out and I still love them). I hate stupid gross movies.
I'm a Tolkien and Rowling geek (films and books). Love Umberto Eco (hope one day I can read one of his novels in Italian without getting lost). I'm also in loved with Poe and Kafka.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
While I was paragliding a huge eagle flew over us.
Saw the feet of "La primavera" by Botticelli up-close and personal (cried like a baby)
Camping in the Amazon rain forest.
Watching the stars (including falling stars) for hours at Tierradentro (in the middle of Colombian mountains, not an electric light in sight)
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach Spanish, English and Italian; also latin dancing, netting (with two needles and crochet), making jewelry with beads, book binding, hair braiding...
Can learn cooking (I suck at it), languages, any manual ability you can share.
Share walks, bicycle rides, movies, drawings, experiences...
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can teach you latin dancing if you want (salsa, cumbia, merengue, etc) and if you want yo, I can also teach you Spanish
Unfortunately, I live in shared student house so I have no way of hosting. But I can show you around Durham (England) if I'm not being a full-time nerd
