About Me

I'm Carol, 22 years old and brazilian.
I'm an exchange student living in San Francisco, CA, trying to explore as much as possible in the US.

I decided to leave my home country to have a lifetime experience living abroad, living another culture, meeting new people, places, food, and other great things in life that we only discover when traveling.
This experience is also showing me a lot about myself, my strengh and my weakness, and how we can discover a totally different life when we open our heart to the unknown.

I love outdoor activities, being in the nature and I love animals (specially dogs).
I'm a very simple and easygoing person, very optimistic and friendly.
I'm always trying to enjoy the simple things in life, like a pretty sunset at the beach (I love the beach so much!) or a good talk with a friend.
I love to talk, with everybody! Specially with older people with a lot of stories to tell.

I'm from São Paulo, the biggest city in South America. I was studying Economics at college, but I dropped it and took a brake, I felt I wasn't enjoying my life, I was just doing what people told me to do. So I came to the United States.
I've been here since may 2017, in a program called au pair - I live with a wonderful british family, and I take care of their children.
During this time I had a lot of time to travel, to experience the local culture, to make friends, and to study.
I had time to explore a lot California and few cities outstate, but I know each state has a very unique culture, and I would love to travel more around the country.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

For me, traveling is much more than staying in a hotel and see the city main turistics spots (this is good too though). But I love to make local friends, to try to experience how it'd be to live there, to understand their culture, to listen their stories...

The friendships we make on the road, have an unique conexion, they leave a mark (a funny history, or an adventure, or just a shoulder to cry on the hard times) that we will remember forever. - Even with the people that we'll probably never see again.
