For as long as I can remember, I’ve always wanted to travel. To my younger self, being as far away as I could possibly imagine was something to daydream about.
When I was about 4 years old, one night I packed my bags and told my parents ”I’m going away to see the world”. For obvious reasons, they wouldn't allow it.

In spite of this, 15 years later my mindset hasn't changed one bit. The idea of traveling to the unknown seems incredibly exciting to me. To be honest, it's what kept me going all these years, and every opportunity to travel I stumble upon, I take it.
Because to travel is to live, or at least to feel alive.

There’s nothing like the rush of discovering the yet unexplored and interacting with different cultures, learning what’s to be learned and sharing a little bit of what makes us ourselves.
To me, that's the main essence of traveling, and it's what I dare -and aspire- to try.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I joined the Couchsurfing community because I’m planning a trip to Europe, but for a long time now I’ve been planning on creating a profile, as one of my many daydreaming coping mechanisms, haha.
I would like to travel using this app because, in my opinion, the best way to travel is by engaging and interacting with others. Getting to know and communicating with different people all around the world is a great way to be more open-minded, and making the most of your time abroad.

Interests

I enjoy taking pictures with my analog camera, I love the way they look after the revelation process.
I also enjoy writing, sometimes short stories but poetry as well. I’m a big García Marquez fan.
I spend most of my days drinking coffee, no matter the weather, with something good to watch or to listen.

Music, Movies, and Books

I’m a film enthusiast. Film it's not only my major, alongside Journalism, but one of my passions.
I enjoy watching and analyzing movies, I’m currently a member of a ”film club” in my city, where we gather around monthly to discuss a particular movie.
Among some directors, I very much like films directed by Godard, Xavier Dolan, Wes Anderson, Kubrick, the Coen brothers, and Sofia Coppola.
Regarding music, I mostly listen to rock, indie, post-punk, progressive rock and grunge rock. Especially 70s, 80s and 90s bands. But I’m open to any type of music, I really love absorbing new stuff.
