About Me
CURRENT MISSION
I'm not on a mission...possible or not...I'm still a work in progress
ABOUT ME
Starting, I think, my fifth life now -not feline so don't know that I'll have nine, but you never know.
Very politically active since college in the 60s and 70s (psych major and teacher) and political activism and teaching have been a leitmotif. Married, converted to Judaism, became a social worker and raised five kids in the 70s, 80s and 90s; began serious traveling in the 90s. Moved to Cuba in the late 90s, married again and worked as editor, journalist, writer. Now back in US, became acclimatized a little bit, but not to TV, politics or full time northern weather so have moved again to Sarasota, Florida...visit me in winter! I realize I'm older than most CSers, but have good rapport with young people and have energy to spare.
PHILOSOPHY
Oh Lord...if pressed must say "don't do unto others as you would not want done to you"....
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Both hosting and surfing so far have been grand.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
A CS guest in Germany and outside Rome - both dauntingly great hosts. Non CS guest with a family in San Salvador, in Merida, Mexico, Quito, Ecuador, n Porto Alegre, Brazil, and Athens, Greece. ~.all good experiences.
Interests
I'm a quintessential Gemini - which means interested in everything. Especially: left politics (lifelong activist but not a member of any political group), emphasis on equal rights. Teaching/learning just about anything (I'm certified math, social studies and ESL, tried German and basic Hebrew ...writing when in the mood (have a bilingual Spanish-English Cuban legend printed (presented at the Havana Book Fair!) and two mysteries self published with Cuban protagonist.
Other interests: walking my dog (rescued), protesting as necessary, travel when I can afford it and getting to know new people.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I know people think my moving to Cuba was amazing, but not to me...it was just where I felt I belonged so I went. Truly amazing was raising kids to be fantastic people. I have seen spectacular things and met wonderful people and look forward to much more
