Hi, My name is Care (Caroline).

I am originally from St. John's, Newfoundland. Yes, I am an Newfie... but I swear I don't have an accent you will perfectly understand me! LOL. I moved to Vancouver in 2009 for post grad and fell in love with the west coast. Since COVID I have been a bit stir crazy here and curious to see if Victoria may be better suited community for me.

I spent 14 years in uni, doing what I thought were all the "right" things, only to find that I am not feeling I am living my dharma, or in full alignment yet. I have also had a number of losses recently, which has caused me to take a pause/ check in and see if I would like to change my path.

I am a minimalist at heart . I love being organized . I eat plant based + fish + eggs. I am mindful when it comes to my impact on the environment; preferring to reuse, upcycle vs. recycling. And of course composting, buying local, organic etc.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I have more freedom as of lately. I want to take advantage of this and be more nomadic, less attached, and more minimalist. I am looking for authentic and mindful experiences and connections with open minded individuals who value community, self reflection, communication, and conscious living.

Interests

I enjoy travelling, yoga, exericise, nature, connecting with people, acro/dance, community events, getting to know a city over time "slow flow" style (working shorter days with time for walks, parks, visiting cafes, getting to know the community etc.), vs. doing the touristy stuff.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Gone against the grain in most areas of my life, and taken the road less travelled. I have been questioned/ doubted myself, but can see there is a bigger plan in store.
