About Me

My name is Caroline, I am 22 years old and have validated my double degree in French and english law in July 2016. I have now (2016-2017) decided to take a gap year in order to educate myself with a capital E, outside the rigidity of academic institutions and in a more practical, real and free environment.

I love music and dancing. I play the guitar and enjoy singing, laughing, interesting and constructive conversations with people, learning languages and discovering cultures, meeting new people, living new experiences...

Without pretention I find myself quite funny and pleasant overall haha

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Because I think the best way to discover a place is through the local's hospitality, and because it sounds like a great and fun experience.

Also, as I was a student for the past 4 years of my life: I have little money haha.

Music, Movies, and Books

I enjoy all types of music including reggae (Barrington Levy, Alborosie, Pepper...) rock and experimental music (Pink Floyd, Jimmy Hendrix, the doors, the Beatles, dire straits, David Bowie...) classical music (Tchaikovsky in particular), electronic music and most of its many branches (deep house, techno, micro house, minimal...- Villalobos, Nicolas Jaar...). And other types but I will not post my i tunes library here.

I also love reading, amongst my favorite books are "1984" and "Animal Farm" by George Owen, Harry Potter (a series of books that have added magic to my childhood), and "The Royal game" by stefan zweig.

In terms of films I loved lost in translation and Virgins suicide by coppola (but only when i grew up, i remember finding those films boring when i was little), American beauty, Matrix, Most of Miyazaki/studio Ghibli's productions including spirited away, my neighbor totorro, kiki's delivery service, princess mononoke...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I swam with Whale sharks (biggest fish in the world) in the Philippines when I was younger.

Also, I managed not to drop out of my law degree for 4 years.

Teach, Learn, Share

I've taught french, english, and tutored children in maths and music (low level) before.

I also love enriching human encounters and believe couch surfing offers an opportunity for such exchange.
