I grew up with educated parents who believed that integrating other cultures into our lives was so important to our upbringing. My father worked for an airlines for 20 years and I spent a large part of my childhood "Eurailing" around Europe. It proved invaluable to my insight to other cultures and gave me an appreciation and a respect for people of all walks of life. My richest relationships have always been with those from a foreign land. Travel has been and always will be a "given" when it comes to my dreams and goals.
I love helping others and doing whatever I can to alleviate another's suffering. A car accident ended my career too many years ago and left a hole in my life. I have filled it with serving others the best I can.
I lost my dear husband suddenly a couple of years ago and am adjusting to a new chapter.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am couchsurfing because I have found that to fulfill my goal of wanting to meet and get to know quality, good people the best place to find them is in an environment of unselfish giving of themselves and their bounty. I have always shared and served many people in need and hope to find others who have the qualities I strive to possess. I have to be a cautious spender and consider myself a quality, considerate, and respectful "guest". I have always tried to leave a place better than when I found it and hope others would do the same.
I truly love meeting and getting to know other people and what better way than to be a grateful guest!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Traveled throughout France by myself when I was 15 1/2 years old!!! My father had to return to work in the States and I talked him into letting me stay. I convinced him that I was experienced enough, wise enough, resourceful enough, and street-smart enough to brave traveling in Europe by myself. The amazing thing about it is that I did just that!!! There were many times that I had to use all of my God and parent-given sense to navigate all of the intricacies of traveling alone as a kid! It was an unforgettable blast!

Teach, Learn, Share

If I could teach the joy and fulfillment one could experience by sharing and serving others in need unconditionally I would feel I have truly contributed to my fellow-man.
The day I stop learning is the day I stop living. I know that one can always learn something beneficial from every person if they can remain humble and open-minded.
I hope I can share the many things I have learned throughout my life and travels. I hope my hosts will share all they have learned throughout their interesting lives.
