Overview
About Me
Hi! I’m Caroline (she/her). I’m in my last semester of college studying Bioproducts Engineering (engineering w renewable resources). I’m interested in sustainability, renewable & bio energy, and intersectional environmentalism.
My biggest passion is science communication. I want more people to understand the science around them so we can have a fighting chance against climate change, food insecurity, and biodiversity conservation. I have a science blog and work for my college writing about environmental research. I also coach other blooming science communicators. The best gig I’ve gotten out of sci comm is a “science tiktok consultant” 😁
I’d love to take you hiking on the north shore of MN, mountain biking, rock climbing, brewery-touring, or stand-up-comedy-watching after the pandemic is over. Minneapolis also has ample museums, food spots, and beautiful parks to check out. It’s an underrated city IMO !!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Once the pandemic is over, I want to eventually spend a few months traveling around South America. My friend introduced me to couch surfing and it seemed like an amazing way to see the continent more intimately, but it got me interested in hosting travelers too! I love meeting people from other places and learning all the ways our cultures are similar / different. Mutual learning is a beautiful thing:)

Music, Movies, and Books
Indie / alternative pop. Let’s vibe to some King Princess, Dodie, or Bon Iver, let’s jam to some Clairo, Mitski, or Lauv, and let’s DANCE to Doja Cat, Misterwives, or a lil reggaeton :)
My go-to book is a wildflower identification field guide
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I climbed to the top of an active volcano. It’s a popular place to go in Chile so it’s not that “uniquely amazing” but it felt amazing to me!!
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach some swing dancing, would love to learn some new cooking or language skills, and will share a love of the outdoors with you
What I Can Share with Hosts
I am frequently the host & “planner” for friends, so I know the work it takes to welcome someone into your home and show them around! I will gratefully help with cooking & cleaning. If you are learning English, I’d love to practice with you! Even more so if you will practice Spanish with me.
Countries I’ve Visited
Argentina, Austria, Chile, Costa Rica, England, France, Spain, Uruguay
Countries I’ve Lived In
Chile, United States
