About Me
First of all, I apologize for being American; not just for Trump, but because I probably can't help fill in the map of people you've met/ hosted. I started traveling a bit later than I wish but better late than never! I can be quiet and shy as well as fiercely passionate, but always in a friendly manner and with a smile. I'm a bit nerdy and love to learn about other people, countries, history, art, and anything someone else is passionate about!
I was a 24/7 caretaker for my grandmother for the last few years. Now that she's passed I'm trying to figure out how to live life normally again. Travel was the thing that helped keep me sane and aware of the world outside my living room.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Trying to see as much of the world and have as many experiences as possible! Honestly, I've never done couch surfing but as a solo female traveler I love the idea. Not just as place to crash, but an automatic network that connects people around the world. I go into this expecting nothing, but hope for friends and local tips!
Interests
Just about anything can be fun or interesting if approached the right way! When abroad I love going to museums and hole in the wall cafes alike. I'm also much more brave than I am at home; everything becomes "why not?" So pushing outside of my known interests and comfort zone is all the better!

Music, Movies, and Books
For music I like most varieties of rock: Amanda Palmer, Sigur Rós, Regina Spektor, The Decemberists, Alabama Shakes, and The Killers to name a few. I love musical soundtracks as well (who doesn't love Hamilton?)
Hard to choose with books but my all time favorite books are Harry Potter, anything Neil Gaiman or Margaret Atwood. Good Omens, Chronicle of a Death Foretold, Pride and Prejudice, House of Leaves, The New Jim Crow, Ishmael, a thousand more
Favorite movies include Pan's Labyrinth, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, The Princess Bride, Nightmare Before Christmas, V for Vendetta, Once
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I lived amongst elephants on reserve for a volunteer project in Thailand. I am both happy and nervous, thinking that it will probably be the highlight of the rest of my life.
