I'm a classics student in university in the United States. I've always had a passion for traveling and learning languages, which my parents instilled in me at a young age. I've been very fortunate in my ability to go abroad, as you can see from my travel list! Some of my best memories come from interacting with locals and seeing incredible sites around the world. It's been a long time since I've been out of the country however, and I'm really looking forward to the trip I have coming up.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

This summer I'm going to be doing a study abroad program in Paris for a month and will be traveling for a week beforehand and afterwards with my boyfriend (he's also on here, Jesse Amar). This is incredibly exciting for me, as I've been studying French for 6+ years and have never managed to step foot into a francophone country! Now is my chance to see if all that high school French did any good.

Jesse and I will be in Berlin for a week in July! Couchsurfing appeals to me in part because of the thrift factor, but mostly because of the chance to meet new people and learn about a new culture from those who live in it.

I would love to be able to host people, but as of right now, I live with my parents or in a dorm all year round, so can't until I have my own place in the future.

I have a fairly diverse taste in media and am always willing to give any recommendations a shot!

I'm very into indie music and psychedelic rock, but dabble in other music genres. As far as movies go, I like classic films and especially comedies. Some of my favorites are A Fish Called Wanda, Clueless, and Slacker.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I spent a week backpacking through Yellowstone national park when I was younger. Saw some beautiful landscapes and drank the most delicious water I've ever had from the mountain streams there.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share what I know about American culture and our currently wild political scene. I'd love to go out and grab a drink with you and get to know you. In addition, Jesse and I like to cook, so we'd be happy to cook a meal for our host!
