Why I’m on Couchsurfing

After hearing about Couchsurfing from my friends, I fell in love with the concept. Opening up our homes to other travellers and sharing stories and experiences is something I'm passionate about. I hope to be able to meet more like-minded people like you!

I'm a relatively new couchsurfer but I am very well-mannered and love to help out whenever I can!

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: R&B, Hip-Hop, Trance, House, and mainstream music too. But I'm pretty open-minded, and am happy to be introduced to some of the music you like too! I used to play the piano and am really sad that I haven't really played since high school. I hope to pick it up again this year! I also would love to learn to play a Chinese flute instrument called 'xiao'. It has a beautiful melodic sound that is sweet yet can evoke many emotions.

Movies: too many to count. Generally action, thriller, comedy, and based on true story movies. I actually don't watch as many movies as I would like to because I prefer TV shows! My favourites include Suits, Orange is the New Black, Orphan Black, Friends, How to get away with murder...

Books: I don't have one favourite book, but genres include Crime/Thriller, Literary Fiction, Science Fiction, Biographies. I am actually a really slow reader, which annoys me. Despite having studied law (with the copious amounts of reading I had to do), I still read slower than a child. One day I hope to be able to read faster than one page a minute haha

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Graduated from uni (my biggest achievement yet)
Hitchhiked my way around Taiwan
Gained a basic grasp of Mandarin over a 3 week period
Managed to finish 11 courses in 2 semesters (usual load is 8)
Ate a fried tarantula and drank spider tequila in Cambodia (I absolutely HATE spiders)

Teach, Learn, Share

I love to teach people about my culture (Australian and Chinese) and languages I know.

As well, I love to learn about other people's culture and language

I like to share my experiences in life and what I've learnt. People who meet me for the first time are surprised by my age, because I'm more mature than I look. I don't know how I should take that, but I do see it as a compliment!

Me, myself and I :) I'm an open person and love to engage in discussions about anything! You can trust that I'll always have a smile on my face! I have a wide interest base - I am a great listener, and as long as you are passionate about what you are talking about!
