About Me
ABOUT ME
I am almost a "quarter of century" girl ;)
I love travelling and was quite initiated to that thanks to my parents. I loved the moments we shared when they came back, discovering the souvenirs they brought back, the photos, the descriptions of the landscapes, of the people they crossed, of the food they ate.
But it is throught food that I think I experimentated deeply the feeling of travelling every day.
As a matter of fact, I have to say that food is one of my other interest! I think I deeply realised that when I entered in my PhD ... ;) In link with my family i have unconscious links with agriculture and the transformation of it into food. And for me, it is the best way to know a country and a culture : to ingest it, to experiment the flavours, the history of it and the people around it. Food means and is also to me, one of the best ways to share with others. So if you come to visit, you'll experiment that with me (I hope!)!
When I visit a place I am not a "first looking for museum" person. What I love is wandering in the place, feeling the atmosphere, hearing the people, the sounds, talking to people I meet, eating food in local places. I like to see the every-day life of a place and I love when someone tells me "why do you go there? there's nothing interesting there" as it is usually the promess of what I am looking for, particularly in cities! So of course, I do the "must-sees" of a place but what I prefer is to "experiment" the place, the city, the landscape, to enter in its history (past and present).
Concerning my "every-day life" (you never know what to say ... so I might be quite commonplace!), I like sports (swimming and badminton particularly), going in the mountains and hiking-skiing-swimming in the lakes-rivers, going out with friends (pub, eating out, hiking), reading (i love buying political-philosophical books but I am not so accurate in reading them ;), so I mostly read novels (not much police novel, don't really like it),the newspapers before going to bed). When of my big activities is also cooking ;) as I belong to a Community Supported Agriculture so I have many vegetables to cook every weeks!
I currently live in Grenoble since 2005. I came here for my studies in Geoghraphy and for the great environnement (mountains and its diverse activities). Before that I spent two years in Montpellier (south of France) for my studies (prep class in literature: geography, history, literature, philosophy, languages mainly). And before that (meaning since I was born) I lived In l'Isle sur la Sorgue a great city (25 000 inhabitants)in the green Provence (near Avignon), quite touristic area (antics, weather, landscape, the river The Sorgue where you can canoe and have a swim in a 13 C° water!).
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I am not doing much at the moment as I am just entering the community but I am open to exchanges and receiving people in grenoble!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I don't have any CouchSurfing experience yet as I am a new member but I am looking forward to it. I was very happy when I heard about this system as for me, it's the best way to discover new horizons and to have the best "inside" view of a country and a culture.
