ABOUT ME

I have a garden, I love to take film photos, I enjoy being active. I love hiking and swimming in rivers and the ocean. I love to write and read and constantly learn. I enjoy learning about herbs and foraging all sorts of them in the wild.
I spent this year working with children with special needs. I spend a lot of time with children!

I'm from Oregon, in the Pacific Northwest of USA

I've spent most of my adult life traveling In the United States, Europe, and South America with a few stops to live and work in New York, Los Angeles, New Orleans and Portland.
I really love to travel and explore new environments!

PHILOSOPHY

When traveling, for me, it is important to go deep in a place, to get to know a place past it’s surface appearance.
The best ways I have found to do this are road trips, being in nature, avoiding busy tourist areas, exploring city parks, grocery stores and hidden alleys, and connecting with local people.
Travel light, sleep everywhere.
Being a part of the Couchsurfing community is such a good way to get to know local people and get to a genuine feeling of a place, the spirit of it.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

The times I got to stay with local people across the US and overseas have been amazing! It has always deepened my experience of a place so much to connect with someone and view a place through their unique lense of experience, rather than just passing through. I've since hosted a few travelers through this site and many others through offline connections and it's always a fun experience to get to show someone around and be refreshed by their impression of your city.Every experience has been unique and special, and I've ended up in some incredible and unlikely situations!

Spelunking for the first time in a sealed off mining cave in State College, PA

Last summer's rock climbing trip with my friend, living in a van and exploring every backroad that called our names

the months I've spent working and living a simple and beautiful life on an organic farm in North-Eastern Spain

Traveling alone in strange lands, doing scary things every day and taking care of myself and learning that I can!
