Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I talk (whoops I guess I mentioned that!), but also like to lend a fascinated ear to your s tories--as a writer I find lovely shapes, arcs, and meaning in people's stories. I like diverse books, architecture, music; will cook (and clean up after myself!), go out to explore city with hosts if interested, and try to be sensitive to your home and schedule.

Interests

Like to have coffee and meals out with friends, to poke around a new place, to walk, cook, to read newspapers, mysteries and 'literature,' to see new things, write, enjoy natural beauty, see music, dance, and other performances, to sing if no one will mind.

Music, Movies, and Books

Classical, roots music/blues, rock, gospel, contemporary and even Tibetan and Inuit throat singers. Read a lot of contemporary literature and right now that includes--surprise--Irish writers. MC Beaton's cozies. Agatha Christie TV. and so on.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Swam with turtles Christmas morning in Hawaii. Also took my 12-year-old child out of school for one year and backpacked and hostelled with her around the UK (and 3 weeks in Ireland). She became very self-confident about meeting people of all kinds and finding her way around almost any new place. I am so happy I could give her that chance, and so proud of her. Being a parent is Amazing!

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach ESL, qualified (TOEIC and TOEFL included.)Can also help improve writing skills, academic or for your book. Would love to share cooking skills, mine and yours. Want to learn about the food in France.

And of course After years at it I can teach you how to write like a journalist.
