Hello, My name is Caroline and I am a travelling teacher, 63 years old, inquisitive, energetic, enthusiastic, and friendly. I was born in South Africa, moved to England when I turned 50, and out to South East Asia at the age of 60. I have two children who still live in South Africa and I return to visit them regularly.
I have decided to travel full time and will be in Turkey in March 2017, South Africa in April, May, june, July and August, 2017 and then on to the continent of South America until I cannot travel any more.

This is an opportunity I am hoping to make the most of because:
* I love meeting people and enjoy learning about all the different ways to live in
the world
*I love different cultures and societies, religious practices and spiritual attitudes
of the people around me, and of people from different countries.
*Locals always know the best places to do/ be/eat/ see and hang out enjoyably.
* I think it is an awesome way to give back to the universe some of what we enjoy.

Intereses

I am an artist so I am always fascinated by local talent, crafts, hand work and cultural artifacts. I enjoy history and every country has its own unique history to investigate.
I am an avid photographer so I am constantly on the lookout for that special shot that tells the story of whatever journey I am on at that moment. I respond to colour and shape, textures and form, sculpture in the East is so varied and unusual, always a surprise waiting around another bend.
Food is always on my list and every country provides delicious surprises.

Music - it has to be the 60s as I was a teenager then, it seems everyone is most nostalgic about the music of their youth. Bob Dylan is right up there at the top of the list. some later artists also appeal, Queen, Annie Lennox and Adelle to name a few.
The Matrix and X Men movies were favourites in that comic book genre, British movies for character and solid story lines, and the Tolkien books and movies were great, adaptations strong contenders in their own right.
Of course, classical music and books also have their appeal.

Algo increíble que he hecho

Some time back I was invited to join a small group of non-hikers to do 5 days through the Namibian desert, hiking the Fish River Canyon trail. 92 km for experts to complete in 4 days and for novices in 6 days. What an awesome and scary enterprise. We carried everything in our backpacks, including water -
4 litres a day due to the heat. We slept in sleeping bags on the sand, no tents, no toilets, no phones, all rubbish was carried out. Low impact hiking - exhausting, challenging but oh so rewarding. When I finished on the 5th day, I was astonished that I had survived and this experience convinced me that I could do anything I set my mind and body to do.
