CURRENT MISSION
Raising our kids in a complex world and even more complex country
ABOUT ME
I am a 44 y.o. economist from São Paulo but currently living in Rio. My husband Nando is a marine engineer. We love travelling, talking and sharing experiences with other people.
We are not hard-party people (although sometimes it can be great to go to a loud party!), we prefer sitting down in a bar/restaurant or people´s house to chat.
I would say we are not very much the "typical" steriotyped Brazilians: we don´t like samba, we don´t dance any latin dance and we like Rock!
Carol: very picky eater (I thought this was important, since this puts me in very embarassing situations sometimes, like my guests making me a lovely fish for dinner that I won´t eat). Love alternative rock. Love talking politics and economics.
Nando: he eats just about anything, loves heavy metal, has a lot of humor (not everyone can understand it, but I love it) and likes to talk about boats and oil plataforms and boring stuff like that :)
André: born in August 2008, he´s a very active boy who loves to play soccer and vidogames
Mariana: born in June 2012, she´s a artistic child, loves painting and playing with her dolls.
Our way of hosting will vary a lot depending on how busy we are, how many guests we have received lately, etc. So I have a few times picked people up at the airport, taken them around, etc., but I have also just given maps, indications and a "enjoy the city!". But we always try to make people as confortable as we can at home (not just in material ways).
With 2 kids it´s a new chalenge to host, let´s see how it goes. We are really interested in hosting families

Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I love meeting people from other cultures and helping them. I have been a member of Hospitality Club for over 10 years and I have received over 30 guests and met countles people!
I used to have a 100% reply and was proud of it, but lately I have been receiving so many messages from people who do not bother to read my profile so I decided not to answer them anymore. So please, if you want a shot at accommodation and an answer, take the time to read it!!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
We´ve had plenty of CS experience, as hosts and also as guests. We also did a lot for organizing the local couchsurfers, but that was so long ago that many local member have no idea who we are! hehehe. Just very few remember us.
I am open to host people as well as going out for a cofee/drink. The only thing I don´t like is to visit touristic places all over again...
