I am Mexican and I just strated my PhD in Oriental Studies at the University of Oxford this fall. I was born in the North of Mexico, grew up in Atlanta, then moved back to Mexico, moved to Egypt and lived some months in Morocco.

I studied Law in the the National University of Mexico and I just recently got my MA in Middle Eastern Studies from the American University in Cairo. I specialize in the study of religious minorities in the Middle East and social movements/ revolutions.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've survived Egyptian taxi drivers and bureaucrats.
I used to be a bellydancer and did local TV.
I've been in choirs all my life and have sung in some of the best music venues of the countries I have lived in.

Teach, Learn, Share

Spanish, some Modern Standard and Egyptian Arabic. I am fond of studying religious minorities, particularly Oriental Christianity and I am fascinated by the power of religion to both divide and bring people together.
