After 23 years of intensive employment and bringing up my 27 year old son almost single handedly, I have taken redundancy from work and renting my Central London flat out whilst I spend 6 months travelling round
South America which I spent 7 weeks in recently and loved. I feel I had lost a part of myself over the years and want to continue this process of finding myself again by being free spirited and immersing myself in local cultures and experiencing some of the amazing natural beauty and fun that is available whilst I have the chance to do so. Travel is what I love to do and I have decided to embrace this opportunity with open arms.

Por qué estoy en Couchsurfing

I need to travel on a budget as my funds have limits but it's mainly as I want to meet local people and immerse myself in local cultures and know that locals know the best places to experience this in the best way. It will also help me to improve my Spanish and maybe help others with their English! I am very independent but also very sociable and easy to get on with; very well hhouse trained and so a good house guest.

Intereses

Apart from experiencing new places, people and cultures, I love food both cooking and eating; music and dancing; art and history and nature. I am also a massive football fan and enjoy watching it live and on TV. Tennis is also something I enjoy but still recovering from a wrist injury so cannot play! I also love to walk as much as possible and on my last visit found that I really enjoyed horse riding.

Música, películas y libros

Really eclectic music tastes due to my age! Grew up with ska and punk which I still love. Enjoy rock music but also jazz and blues and anything I can dance to as well.
I tend to watch a lot of American box sets like sons of anarchy, breaking bad, prison break etc etc and am really into any movies or TV based on psychological thrillers. I enjoy comedy and love to laugh. Most recent movie has been spectre which I saw twice!

I jumped out of a small airplane at iguassu falls in September 2015 and experienced sky diving for the first time which was out of this world and totally amazing as I am scared of heights or was!
I have given up working after 23 years to travel! !
