I have worked in many different situations, as a teacher, artist, social worker in schools, museums and with folk arts programs. I like developing new programs such as one for high school students where they write their own study plans and we find mentors for them in the community. I also like combining my art with community projects. I've done several murals where I've worked with community members to create and paint them. I also like to travel. I find it gives me new ideas and new ways of seeing myself.

My husband and I have hosted many couchsurfers and it has always been fun and interesting. Since I like traveling, it is like being able to travel but by staying in my own home and having the world come to me. I look forward to staying with others when I travel.

I like all kinds of music. I enjoy movies that are documentaries as well as ones set in historic times; I like movies in general. I'm the same with books, if they are well written, I find them engaging.

I went to Laos to take a book I published that was a Hmong Cinderella story. I drew the pictures in the style of the Hmong story clothes and had the story written in Laotian, Hmong and English. I took it to Hmong communities in Laos.

I can tell them about interesting places to visit in Vermont as well as other parts of the country. I can share with them the many exciting things that are happening with Vermont agriculture and small businesses. I can tell them about our experiences in developing, building and moving into our cohousing community.
