ABOUT ME

I'm a California girl at heart who can have a good time doing pretty much anything, whether it be exploring a new city, hanging out at the beach, movies, theme park, rock climbing, reading, grabbing a drink at a new restaurant/bar, or going for a run or bike bike. I've lived in DC since 2007, and absolutely love the city.

I went backpacking through Europe for a few months in early '06, did another backpacking trip through Europe and Central Asia May-June '08, and spent a few weeks in Indonesia with a day spent exploring South Korea in November '09. I also went to Costa Rica with my fiance in August 2011.

PHILOSOPHY

Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, champagne in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming "WOO-HOO, what a ride!"

我为什么加入 Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I couchsurfed through England, Ireland, France, Italy, and Greece from December '05 through March '06. Everyone I met was wonderful, gracious, and all helped to make my journey (first time in Europe, and I was traveling alone) one I will never forget.

May-June '08:
I surfed again through England, Ireland, France, Italy, Germany, and the Czech Republic. I also made it to Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Uzbekistan on this trip, but was with family instead of surfing.

November 2009:
I surfed one night during my 22 hour layover in Seoul, South Korea. Had a great night exploring some of the hotspots and meeting my host's friends.

I'm always up for an adventure!

I'm a pretty active person. Outside of work I box, run, bike, read, travel, and continue to explore my city. I like many kinds of sports, and am always up for trying something new.

I'm not letting myself be limited to just one, so here it goes:

Competed at a national level in martial arts at age 17

Climbed to the top of a mountain on an island in Ha Long Bay, Vietnam

Hand fed elephants in Thailand

Backpacked alone through Europe (couchsurfing along the way)

Ice skated on the Eiffel Tower and beside the Tower of London

Visited the ruins of my family's castle in Ireland (Castle Menlo, near Galway)

Rode a horse into the mountains and stayed with nomads in Kyrgyzstan

Toured the silk road in Uzbekistan

Toured Temple Borobudur (world's largest Buddhist temple) in Indonesia

Pet a Komodo Dragon in Indonesia
