Hello!
I’ve been living in New Caledonia for about three years now, and I completely fell in love with this beautiful island.
I turned 36 in November, so this was my last chance to apply for a Working Holiday Visa in Australia. I decided to go for it, and my adventure will begin on February 22nd.
My goal?
To meet Australians, build connections, discover your culture, and finally learn how to speak proper English once and for all! (Even with my strong French accent 😅)
I’m also hoping to find a job fairly quickly, and then travel around the country.
I’ve already traveled a lot. I hitchhiked almost all around South America, alone. I did a lot of couchsurfing there and absolutely loved the experience. I’m an adventurous person and I enjoy taking risks.
That said, today I do have a few worries… Australia is huge, my English level is quite low, I’m not in my 20s anymore 🤣🤣🤣 and I’m leaving my partner behind in New Caledonia 🥹

What do I like?
I sail a lot — I own a boat in France and in New Caledonia. I also have a motorbike; I got my license a few months ago. I enjoy going out and meeting people, I love reading and going to the movies. I’m a big animal lover, especially dogs.
And I quit smoking! My biggest pride at the moment 😄
How do I plan to organize my trip in Australia?
Honestly… I have no idea yet. I’m still thinking about it.
Should I buy a car? A caravan? A campervan? Should I do a shared house? I really don’t know. I think I’ll figure it out once I arrive… unless you have some recommendations?
As for work, why not start in the mines, so I can be accommodated one week on, one week off. But I’d also really like to work in renovation, to learn and develop new skills.
