I recently graduated from Iowa State University and am currently living in Boston. I'm taking a year off from school before starting a physical therapy program, and in my year off, I've decided to move to the east coast and experience city life.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

In 2013, despite being a very casual biker and a weak swimmer, I pushed myself to complete an Olympic-distance triathlon, probably the most physically difficult challenge I've ever undertaken. Within the first two minutes I was seriously concerned that I would drown, but I survived (obviously), so completing this race is an accomplishment I'm especially proud of.

In the last few years, one of the most valuable things I've learned to do is push myself beyond my comfort zone and try new things when opportunities arise.
