About Me

Humble Midwestern girl who likes to go on adventures. My go-to trips include a yearly trek to Florida to break up the cold winter months, summer hiking in our beautiful Black Hills, and a mandatory MLB or NFL game weekend in Minneapolis. I love nature, spending time on the water, meeting new people, and crossing things off my bucket list.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I believe seeing things through the eyes of a local and building new friendships is much more valuable than following the tourist track. Hopefully this space will guide me in my endeavors!

My to do list includes but is not limited to:

-SCUBA anywhere warm (I'm PADI certified)

-Deep sea fish in The Keys

-Soak in the historical sites of Greece

-Do the whole European roadtrip/hostel thing

-Sip wine and eat my way through Italy

-Visit Ireland over Saint Patrick's Day (it's the land of my ancestors)

-Carnival in Rio

-Catch a lobster in Maine

-Chow down on some BBQ in Memphis

-Mardi Gras in New Orleans

-Relax on the beach...anywhere

-Reread Darwin on the Galápagos Islands

You get the picture…

Interests

I'm a nerd; anything that involves science, history, and any sort of learning is of interest to me.

I love good food, good drinks and am not shy to try new things. If you can add live music and dancing to that, my day is made!

I live for adventure. Hiking, snorkeling, caving, boating and any sort of exploratory event are good things in my book. I'm not afraid to get dirty!

Music, Movies, and Books

Yes, yes, and yes.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Drove a van full of classmates from South Dakota down to the Chiricahua Mountains of Arizona for independent research projects. I got to spend my days in the beautiful mountain stream hunting for aquatic insects.
