ABOUT ME

Hello. I'm Cheng Mei Yee and my friends call me Carrie. I'm a student at Polytechnic Community College, studying advertising design. I'm optimistic and independent; enjoy making new friends and sharing my culture with others. I like helping and taking care of my friends and family. I would like to expand my point of view and learn things from others and I am looking forward to having a great time with you and making wonderful memories with you that I will cherish for years to come.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

As a designer, meeting different people and learning their cultures is the most effective way to explore new ideas. I would like to invite someone into my house , although it is not a big fancy house. One or two people are okay for me and my family. Hopefully you will have good memories of my house and family and have fun in Hong Kong.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I haven't done any couch surfing yet, but I'm dying to try one. It is a good chance for me to understand and learn others cultures. But I had the opportunity to be an exchange student in America. I lived with an America family for about a year, and I had a most wonderful time with them. Hopefully I can find my first couch surfing in July in France.

Interests

I like laughing, dancing, traveling, listening to music, watching movies on my laptop, talking and simply enjoying life. Drawing is one of my favorite things to do. I do a lot of artwork and I enjoy the creative process, as well as all kinds of exhibitions. Through the exhibitions I can learn more then I thought and I can then share my thoughts with other designers, too. If you enjoy art and design, we can share our ideas and methods on the future.

Music, Movies, and Books

I like popular music and warm music. However, I’m not very good at music but I played piano when I was younger. Now, I’ve given the piano to my nephew. I love watching all kind of movies (except scary movies). I watch movies about hours every day on my laptop. Sometime I cry when I watch sad movies, but I enjoy them very much. If you like certain movies and have enjoyed them, you can suggest them to me!!!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I had a wonderful experience that other people may not have had. Last year, when I was 17 years old, I went to America by myself to be an exchange student in Port Charlotte, Florida. And the most amazing part is that I got a chance to know the Pike family. They are the best family in the world. We had fun all the time. Mr. and Mrs Pike helped me a lot and they treated me like their own daughter. I was a very lucky exchange student. Nowadays, we still keep in touch everyday through Skype and letters and I still call them mom and dad.
