About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To learn and live each day, maintain balance and community, and to give give give to the world.
ABOUT ME
I am a caring, people-person who loves to learn about what's around me. I am open-minded and easy to get along with. I tend to have a calm energy when I meet new people, yet I can come out of my shell and show my silly side as I get to know people.
PHILOSOPHY
Seek truth. Seek wise counsel. Be kind to others. Contribute your gifts to the world.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I'm excited to host travelers in Portland when we can, and to meet other hosts in their communities while we're traveling!
If I can't host you and you are looking for ideas on what to see/do in Portland, give me a shout and I would be happy to offer up some ideas.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I was a Hospitality Club member in 2007 while traveling in Europe and loved it. That was where I heard about couch surfing, so I decided to join.
In 2008-2009, my housemates and I had scores of couch surfers come through (organized through my housemate's profile, Emily Adama). It was great to meet (and adventure with!) such wonderful individuals from all over the world.
Now my husband and I have a home of our own which we hope to share with fellow travelers as they pass through.

Music, Movies, and Books
This is always shifting, but most recently I finished reading "Kindred" by Octavia Butler. It was an incredibly well-written and crafted story that was heart-breaking, moving, and inspiring all at the same time. Movies are rare to watch these days...and music is whatever is streaming - often a recent band from Portland's Pickathon.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Married my husband in Nepal with over 300 members of his family and friends (whom I had met 3 days prior).
Teach, Learn, Share
Knitting! (I would love to teach you.)
