About Me

I'm a 32-year-old translator, editor, and researcher originally from the interior of São Paulo state, but living in Rio de Janeiro for the past 13 years.

Over these years, my life has mostly been based here, though my true home is wherever my strongest connections are: from São Paulo (where my parents live) to Brasília (where my sister and god-nephew live) and Powroźnik, Poland (where my brother, sister-in-law, and nieces live), not to mention all the other places where I find my network of affection and support.

I work remotely, so I sometimes spend time on the move, between here and there. I hold a degree in Theater Theory and a master's in Literature, and now, nearly 5 years after defending my thesis, I'm considering applying for a PhD in Germany or the USA sometime soon.

My Couchsurfing journey:

My first experience was back in 2009, a two-week solo adventure through Germany and Spain on my way to a student exchange in Japan. At 17, it was a formative experience – my first time abroad, immersing myself in unique, different cultural structures.

In 2011, I moved to Rio for university, and Couchsurfing helped me settle in and find my footing. Life got busy, and I drifted away for a while, but a trip through Poland, Hungary, Slovakia, and Germany in early 2023 was the trigger for me to reconnect with CouchSurfing (and, consequently, the distinctive experiences it makes possible).

I also started hosting again last year, which has helped me rediscover the joy of sharing my home and city with other travelers. If you are someone driven by curiosity and enthusiasm for things, there is a good chance we will get along well.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

To listen, share and exchange, while embracing curiosity, spontaneity, the unfamiliar, and the unexpected.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I only host when I can dedicate quality time to the guest and ensure a comfortable environment for everyone. My home is small but cozy and welcoming, and sharing it also means opening up a bit of my personal life and something of my intimacy – a home is much more than furniture and walls.
