About Me

CURRENT MISSION

ABOUT ME

I walk in the middle of sidewalks and streets
I dance without any music or beat

PHILOSOPHY

I am curious and I like to investigate. I love the interesting tension between content and surface.

I think open communication is key to having fulfilling relationships and interactions, but in the mean time amuse myself by examining the little shields that we sometimes use instead. I think it is important to respect and experience sadness in order to move past it. I feel that sometimes over-optimism leads to repression, and then a later and greater crash. Yet I am by no means a negative Nancy.

I value intuition. I feel much, and learn from it, and try to share my experiences with others...and they do the same for me.

investigate, feel, share, receive, love.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I had wonderful couch surfing experiences in France. Now that I am back in America I want to extend a positive and welcoming feeling for new visitors. I wish I could offer my couch to travelers but I'm transitioning and don't have a couch to call my own quite yet. When I have a new place I hope to be a good couch host.

I'm still adjusting to Chicago now, but if you are traveling through and want to meet a friendly person just let me know!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I stayed with two different hosts in Southern France and both experiences were amazing. Though it isn't technically couch surfing, I also wwoofed at a farm near Limoux in France.

*update - I surfed on Mukund's couch in Urbana, IL when traveling to sell merchandize for John Vanderslice's show. He was a great host!

Interests

making art of all kinds, appreciating art made by others, reading, learning, playing/listening to music, dinosaurs, pizza, kitties, ants, riding my bicycle (though hesitantly learning how to navigate Chicago), abandoned things, swimming (i'm awful at it, but love water), trees, mountains, other small animals, dancing...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

My most recent was witnessing the end of le tour de france - amazing!

Teach, Learn, Share

Well, I am an artist and have many different creative skills that could be useful. I would love to have discussions about art and life, both teaching and learning.

I could offer aesthetic opinions, or even help make something. I could make drawings of my hosts, or of something they would like in exchange for a wonderful stay :). I also studied in women and gender studies if anyone would like to engage in interesting gender-related discussions.

I have many interests and am excited to learn anything new.
